Braces

Which is the best?

Let’s look at various factors you will need to consider when choosing between braces and Invisalign, and assess which one comes out on top for each:

Cost – The cost of orthodontal treatment can vary a great deal depending on the individual case, so it is hard to say which one will cost you more. Colgate puts Invisalign in the range of $3,500 – $8,000 and traditional braces at $2,500 – $6,000.

Aesthetics – The main reason people choose Invisalign over braces is because their clear plastic composition makes them practically invisible. This reduces any self-consciousness that patients might feel when wearing braces.

Comfort – The discreetness of Invisalign braces can also make them more comfortable than traditional braces. The wires and brackets of traditional braces can cause abrasions against the cheek and gums, for example.

Limitations – Traditional braces are much more effective at treating serious cases, so Invisalign will not always be a viable alternative to braces depending on the severity of your condition.
